Former Daytona polesitter Sean Corr posted the fastest speed in ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards final practice Friday morning in preparation for Saturday's Lucas Oil 200 Driven by General Tire.

Corr, in the No. 43 NESCO-Empire Racing Chevrolet, put up the fastest lap of the week after two practice sessions with a speed of 181.785 mph. Cartersville, Georgia's Mark Thompson was second on the board in the No. 66 Phoenix Air Ford with a speed of 181.704 mph. Thompson, also entered for the Daytona 500, will be making his 100th ARCA start in Saturday's race. Travis Braden, in the No. 27 MatrixCare-Consonus Healthcare-Liberty Village Ford, was third quickest overall at 181.638 mph.

Bobby Santos III (No. 44 Chevrolet) finished eighth in Sunday's NASCAR Whelen Modified Modified Tour season-ending Sunoco World Series 150 at Thompson (CT) Speedway Motorsports Park.

He started 10th in the lineup and completed all laps in the 150-lap race. Santos, who entered seven of the 16 NWMT races this year, closed out the season 25th in the 2018 championship standings.

Dave Sapienza (No. 36 Chevrolet) was credited with a 26th place DNF in Sunday's NASCAR Whelen Modified Modified Tour season-ending Sunoco World Series 150 at Thompson (CT) Speedway Motorsports Park.

He started 11th on the grid and completed 132 laps of the 150-lap race before exiting the event (Crash). Sapienza, who competed in all 16 NWMT races run this year, closed out the season eighth in the 2018 championship standings, 216 points behind Champion Justin Bonsignore after this event.

Kyle Bonsignore (No. 22 Chevrolet) finished 15th in Sunday's NASCAR Whelen Modified Modified Tour (NWMT) season-ending Sunoco World Series 150 at Thompson (CT) Speedway Motorsports Park.

The winner of last week's NWMT NAPA Fall Final 150 at Stafford Motor Speedway started 14th in the lineup and completed 149 laps in the 150-lap Thompson race. Bonsignore, who entered seven of the 16 NWMT races this year, closed out the season 29th in the 2018 championship standings.

Shawn Solomito (No. 66 Chevrolet) finished 20th in Sunday's NASCAR Whelen Modified Modified Tour season-ending Sunoco World Series 150 at Thompson (CT) Speedway Motorsports Park.

He started 21st in the lineup and completed 148 laps in the 150-lap race. Solomito, who entered four of the 16 NWMT races this year, closed out the season 36th in the 2018 championship standings.

Brad Keselowski apparently ran out of fuel on the final lap of the 1000Bulbs.com 500 at Talladega Superspeedway and fell to 27th in the final rundown.

That cost Keselowski dearly in the points. He is now 18 points behind the cutoff line heading into the final race of Round 2. He needs to either win next week or get some help with bad finishes by Martin Truex Jr. or Clint Bowyer.

Regan Smith earned his first top-10 of the season by finishing 10th in the 1000Bulbs.com 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Smith found out this week that Kasey Kahne will not return to the seat of this car, which should give him the remainder of the races. He has done an admirable job in relief and continues to be one of the best low-cost options for the rest of the year.

Paul Menard finished ninth in the 1000Bulbs.com 500 at Talladega Superspeedway after starting the race 30th - giving him a ton of place differential points.

This is Menard's eighth top-15 in the last 11 plate races. He has been solid on this track type throughout his career and should be one of the top values on the big tracks. Time will tell how he performs with next year's rules package.

Erik Jones finished eighth in the 1000Bulbs.com 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. That is the first time in four starts that he has been running at the end of a race on this track.

There were almost no multi-car incidents during the race, but Jones managed to avoid the last lap carnage. On the heels of his Coke Zero 400 win at Daytona International Speedway this summer, he may have turned a corner on the plate tracks.

Jimmie Johnson survived a single car spin in Stage 1 of the 1000Bulbs.com 500 at Talladega Superspeedway that damaged his right front fender to finish seventh at the checkers.

Given his struggles to date - he'll take it. This is Johnson's third top-10 in the last four races this season. He is becoming fantasy relevant.

Justin Bonsignore couldn’t have dreamed of a better way to end his championship season on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.

Bonsignore captured his eighth win of the season in the Sunoco World Series 150 at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, ending his season by celebrating both a race win and a dominating championship. The win allowed the Holtsville, New York, driver to become the fourth driver in the modern era of the Whelen Modified Tour to sweep all of the events at Thompson in the same season. Steve Park (1996), Mike Stefanik (1998) and Doug Coby (2015) are the other three to accomplish the feat.

AJ Allmendinger finished sixth in the 1000Bulbs.com 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, which was his best finish since earning a third at Daytona International Speedway this summer.

Allmendinger had high hopes for the race before the green flag waved. He raced mid-pack much of the afternoon and surged at the end. Allmendinger believes he is auditioning for a 2019 ride and this can only help.
