Uncommitted four-star 2019 ATH Quavaris Crouch will make his commitment at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 5.

Or should we say, Crouch will make his commitment public on Jan. 5. His actual decision will come a few weeks earlier, as the four-star stud has plans to make a "silent" commitment prior to the early signing period later this month. As for the contenders in this race, Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh paid him an in-home visit on Monday and Clemson HC Dabo Swinney will likewise be checking in with him on Saturday. These are believed to be the two finalists for his pledge (with Alabama and FSU also having outside shots). While Crouch could play a number of positions once he hits his preferred campus, he told the Washington Post just prior to Thanksgiving that he would be playing linebacker at the collegiate level. On the 247Sports composite board, Crouch ranks as the No. 39 overall prospect in the 2019 class. He had been drawing five-star status earlier in the fall, but has slid a little in recent rankings releases.

Georgia received a verbal commitment from five-star 2019 C Clay Webb.

Webb made the decision on Monday, picking the Bulldogs over Alabama, Auburn and Clemson. It's a tremendous get for the Bulldogs, as Webb ranks as the top center in the class, and ranks 22nd overall in 247 Sports composite rankings. You can't guarantee young players playing immediately, but reports indicate that the 6-foot-3, 295-pound center could be ready to roll immediately. Georgia has the third ranked class in the country now according to 247 Sports, and there are several more big-name players considering the Bulldogs.

Missouri redshirt sophomore DE Tre Williams has been suspended after being arrested for suspicion of second-degree domestic assault.

Williams was arrested at his off-campus apartment, but the specifics of the charges have yet to be released. It's considered a Class D felony in the state of Missouri, and Williams was released after paying a $4,500 bond. ""We were made aware of the situation yesterday, and Tre was immediately suspended indefinitely from all team activities," Missouri head coach Barry Odom said in a released statement.

Auburn hired Memphis OC Kenny Dillingham to serve in the same capacity.

Dillingham is replacing Chip Lindsay, who was hired to be the new offensive coordinator at Les Miles at Kansas. The 29-year-old has just one year of being a coordinator, as he was elevated to the position in 2018 when Darrell Dickey left for TExas A&M. Before joining Memphis, Dillingham spent time at Arizona State, working with tight ends.

Michigan junior QB Shea Patterson has not made a decision regarding his NFL future.

Patterson is draft-eligible and could bounce with the 2019 QB class thought of as weak, but Patterson isn't considered a high draft pick, so a return to school is certainly possible. Patterson did commit to playing in Michigan's bowl game against Georgia and so did Chase Winovich. Perhaps his performance in the bowl game will dictate his decision, but Patterson has plans to talk to Harbaugh before a final decision is made.

Ole Miss hired former Colorado HC Mike MacIntyre as defensive coordinator.

It's a three-year deal worth $1.5 million per season. This is not too surprising of a landing spot considering MacIntyre spent four seasons at Ole Miss as an assistant from 1999 to 2002. MacIntyre's defenses at Colorado have ranked 68th, 74th, and 20th in points allowed in the last three seasons and any of those rankings would be an improvement to Ole Miss' 115th ranking this year. MacIntyre is a former AP Coach of the Year (2016), so this is a big hire for the Rebels.

Colorado sophomore WR Laviska Shenault (toe) underwent surgery.

Shenault (6'2/220) battled a turf toe injury for the second half of the 2018 season, but he was in visible discomfort after returning from missed games. The surgery will keep Shenault out of spring football, but he will have plenty of time to recover for the 2019 season. When healthy, Shenault is one of the most dynamic players in the country. Shenault is a candidate to be the No. 1 receiver in the 2020 draft class.

Utah State re-hired Gary Andersen as head coach.

Andersen was Utah State's head coach from 2009 to 2012 and was named the Western Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2012 after leading the Aggies to an 11-2 record. Since that season, Andersen has coached at Wisconsin, Oregon State, and Utah. Utah State AD John Hartwell said Andersen's knowledge of the program is "unparalleled" and they are confident that Andersen will bring continued growth to Utah State, who is playing North Texas in the New Mexico Bowl next week.

TCU sophomore QB Shawn Robinson will transfer according to 247 Sports' sources.

Robinson (6'2/228) had a rough season for the Horned Frogs and it ended with Robinson undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery. In seven games this season, Robinson tossed nine touchdowns with eight interceptions, but Robinson has some talent if he can put it all together. Perhaps a new coaching staff can help him develop, but he will not be eligible to play in games for one season. With Robinson heading out, Justin Rogers and Michael Collins will compete for the starting quarterback spot this offseason.

UCLA promotes OL coach Justin Frye to offensive coordinator.

Chip Kelly will, of course, be the mastermind at UCLA, but this is a big promotion for the offensive line coach. Frye has been in Los Angeles for just one season, and his presence was certainly felt late in the season, especially in the Bruins' rushing attack. Before being brought on by Chip Kelly, Frye spent five seasons with Boston College. Bruce Feldman described Frye as "highly thought of in coaching circles."
Dec 9 - 4:41 PM

Iowa State has extended HC Matt Campbell through the 2024 season.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported that Campbell was a "potential head-coaching candidate" for the NFL, so this is very good day for the Cyclones. Campbell not only gets a new contract for himself, but Iowa State has agreed to give the assistant coaching staff an additional $1 million. In 2018, the Cyclones are 8-4 with Washington State up next in the Alamo Bowl. A win over the Cougars would give Campbell his first nine-win season at Iowa State.

FAU junior RB Devin Singletary was named the Conference USA Player of the Year by Pro Football Focus.

Singletary was given the fifth best running back grade in the country after finishing the season as the nation's leader in missed tackles forced -- he broke 94 tackles on 264 attempts. Singletary was also one of three running backs to have over 1,000 rushing yards coming after contact (1,027 yards). Pro Football Focus also notes that the junior running back led the country in percentage of yards coming after contact (76.9%). If Singletary declares for the 2019 NFL Draft, he would be a Day 2 candidate with an outside shot of being a late first-round pick with a strong combine.
