Purdue junior QB Elijah Sindelar (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision for Saturday's contest with Missouri.

Sindelar (6'4/225) sustained the undisclosed injury concern during Wednesday's practice, it would appear, and he was not spotted during the open media window on Thursday. Said Boilermakers HC Jeff Brohm, "We'll let it play out until gametime." The junior signal-caller has gotten off to a slow start this year -- he's been self-critical regarding his deep ball -- having passed for 283 yards with a lackluster two touchdowns (against three interceptions) in two games played. If Sindelar is unable to give it a go on Saturday, it'll be David Blough taking the start versus the Tigers.

Virginia Tech redshirt junior DE Houshun Gaines will miss the remainder of the season due to a torn ACL.

Gaines (6'3/235) tore his ACL in Saturday's loss to Pittsburgh. He won't play against Miami or Virginia to close out the regular season, nor would he be available for bowl work if the 4-5 Hokies can sneak into postseason proceedings over the next two weeks. The redshirt junior ends his 2018 season having recorded 22 tackles (5.0 for loss), 4.5 sacks and a fumble forced across nine games played. While HC Justin Fuente expressed optimism that Gaines will be back in full-force next season, whether that would be at the collegiate or pro level is an open question. Gaines is eligible to declare for the draft this winter. He should be considered a borderline Day 2 prospect.

Oregon senior WR Tabari Hines will take a redshirt for the season and transfer.

Hines (5'10/170) is on the move once more. He first transferred over from Wake Forest to oregon during the offseason. The wideout has not traveled with the Ducks for any of their last three games and ends his short tenure in Eugene having caught three passes for 32 yards and a touchdown. He will redshirt for this year and be eligible to play immediately at his new home-to-be come the start of the 2019 season.

Minnesota HC P.J. Fleck said that senior RB Shannon Brooks (knee) faces a "lengthy" recovery.

Brooks (6'0/215) has already been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign due to a right knee injury sustained against Indiana on Oct. 27. He underwent surgery to repair the injury last week. The senior will be taking a redshirt for the current campaign, which will allow him to return for his final season of eligibility in Minneapolis next year. Mohamed Ibrahim will see the bulk of work against Northwestern and Wisconsin to wrap up the regular season.

Ohio State HC Urban Meyer said that the university is considering legal action against Stadium reporter Brett McMurphy.

McMurphy reported on Tuesday that the precipitating incident that led to the transfer of OSU WR Trevon Grimes was an exchange with former WR coach Zach Smith in September of 2017 in which Smith allegedly used racial epithets. This was told to McMurphy by Grimes' father. The wideout transferred to Florida last winter. Meyer is being accused of helping to cover up all of this reported ugliness. He responded to that accusation on Tuesday, calling it, "the most preposterous thing I've ever heard" and then passing along the kicker -- that Ohio State was exploring legal avenues in which to possibly go after McMurphy. If you'll recall, it was also McMurphy's reporting which in part opened the door for Meyer's three-game suspension to open the season.

Colorado AD Rick George said that no decision has been made as of yet regarding the future of HC Mike MacIntyre.

A report from an ABC affiliate in Denvers surfaced on Monday which had MacIntyre facing the axe at the end of the season. At least for now, George is not publicly committing to the coach's termination. Said the AD, "We do comment on speculation or unsubstantiated rumors with anonymous sources. Let me just say I have made no decisions regarding the future of our football program." MacIntyre would be owed a buyout of $10-plus million if he is fired without cause. The Buffs are currently in the midst of a five-game losing streak, with one of those losses coming in spectacularly implosive fashion against Oregon State after CU had worked out to a 31-3 lead. Colorado will finish out the campaign with contests against Utah and Cal. Stay tuned.

Western Kentucky HC Mike Sanford's future at the school "hinges largely on the outcomes of his team’s final two games," according to the Bowling Green Daily News.

The report goes on to state that Sanford will likely be retained if the Hilltoppers (1-9 overall, 0-6 Conference USA) win each of their last two games, a home date with UTEP and a road trip to Louisiana Tech. "On the other hand, WKU is expected to fire the second-year coach following the season should his team lose both and finish 1-11," it continues. "Sanford’s future if the Hilltoppers split those two contests is unclear." Sanford's tenure has been a disaster. He's 7-16 through 23 games and has in two short years managed to halt in its tracks all the momentum Jeff Brohm had built. WKU would owe Sanford a $1.2 million buyout if he’s fired after the season.

Maryland redshirt sophomore QB Tyrrell Pigrome will take over as starter following the news of Kasim Hill's season-ending ACL injury.

Pigrome actually beat out Hill (and Max Bortenschlager and Caleb Henderson) in August 2017 for the starting job last season. But Pigrome tore his ACL in the opener, an upset win over Texas, and missed the rest of the season. This summer, Hill returned the favor and bested Pigrome for the starting job. Now, Pigrome will get another opportunity. Once the Gatorade Alabama High School Player of the Year, Pigrome has thrown for only 692 yards with a 5/4 TD/INT ratio in 114 attempts sprinkled over the past three years.
Nov 13 - 12:37 PM

Maryland HC Matt Canada confirmed that sophomore QB Kasim Hill tore his left ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.

Hill (6'2/234) missed most of last season after tearing his right ACL. Another long rehab process is coming and it would be a surprise if Hill was healthy enough to take snaps in September next year. He finishes this season with 1,083 passing yards and a 9/4 TD/INT ratio on 49.4% completions. Tyrrell Pigrome will take over under center.
Nov 13 - 12:30 PM

Transferring Clemson senior QB Kelly Bryant will announce his new school on December 4.

That will be a little under two weeks after Bryant makes his final official visit to Miami November 23-25. He's also taken visits to Arkansas, Missouri, UNC, and he's visiting Mississippi State on Saturday. The former Clemson starter has also unofficially visited Auburn. Wherever Bryant goes is getting a starter who took Clemson to the playoffs in 2017 and had the Tigers undefeated before making the switch to Trevor Lawrence. Long story short, this will be one of -- if not the -- biggest transfers of the year.
Nov 12 - 7:08 PM

Oklahoma State junior RB Justice Hill (ribs) has been cleared to play on Saturday against West Virginia.

According to head coach Mike Gundy, Hill underwent a CAT scan and x-rays, and there was no structural damage. Hill was forced to leave the high-scoring loss to Oklahoma last Saturday. Chuba Hubbard could be in for more carries against the Mountaineers to keep Hill fresh, but the talented junior should be ready to roll for the game against West Virginia.
Nov 12 - 3:36 PM

Florida State HC Willie Taggart declared redshirt junior QB Deondre Francois the starting quarterback for the rest of the season.

"He's not the issue with our football team," Taggart said. We tend to agree with Taggart. But there's also more going on here than meets the eye. True sophomore James Blackman has only appeared in four games this season and is eligible for a redshirt if he doesn't play in another game this season. Expect Francois and Blackman to engage in another quarterback derby next summer.
