Vanderbilt hired 49ers defensive assistant Jason Tarver to serve as defensive coordinator.

Tarver had been on staff with the 49ers since 2015. He'll be Vandy's first defensive coordinator hired in Derek Mason's time at the helm of the ship -- Mason had previously been working not only as head coach but also as DC. The Commodores ranked 88th in FBS scoring defense for the 2017 season. Tarver's previous experience as coordinator came with Stanford (2011) and the Oakland Raiders (2012-14).

Michigan senior DE Chase Winovich (undisclosed) was helped off the field during the fourth quarter of Saturday's game against Indiana.

Winovich (6'3/255) remained down on the Michigan Stadium turf for a couple minutes before getting to his feet, with trainers taking him to the locker room immediately. The senior defensive end was hit by an Indiana offensive lineman after he was already down on the turf, but no penalty was called. Winovich is a key member of the Michigan defense, and his status is something to keep an eye on ahead of the Nov. 24 showdown with Ohio State.

Charlotte junior RB Benny LeMay rushed for 159 yards and four touchdowns on 30 carries in Saturday's 42-35 loss to FIU.

LeMay (5'9/218) left it all out there, but it wasn't enough for the win. The junior back broke his three game streak without a touchdown by scoring four times on another massive workload. All four of those touchdowns came from inside the 10, including two scores at the goal line, but the 159 rushing yards also pushed him over the 1,000-yard mark for the first time during his career. He will end his big junior campaign with a contest against FAU.
Nov 17 - 6:25 PM

Notre Dame redshirt sophomore QB Ian Book completed 23-of-37 passes for 292 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in a a 36-3 victory over Syracuse on Saturday.

It wasn't ever close. Book didn't show any side effects from the rib injury that kept him out of the victory over Florida State on Saturday. The interception was a fourth-and-goal play from the one-yard line where he was just trying to hope for the best as he was falling backward. Outside of that and a few other throws, he was the accurate passer that we've seen all year; particularly on the short and medium routes. Book and the Irish remain undefeated, and they'll have a chance to finish 12-0 if they beat USC in Los Angeles next Saturday.
Nov 17 - 5:54 PM

Colorado sophomore WR Laviska Shenault caught nine passes for 64 yards in Saturday's 30-7 loss to Utah.

Shenault (6'2/220) doesn't look like he's completely over his toe injury that caused him to miss three games earlier, but the sophomore still led the Buffaloes in receiving. The star sophomore should be one step closer to a full recovery against Cal next week and not playing in the snow will certainly help his cutting ability. Shenault is the proud owner of a 79-946-6 receiving line this season.

Washington senior LT Trey Adams (back) made his first appearance of the season during Saturday's game against Oregon State.

Adams, considered to be one of the best tackles in college football before the season began, has been out all year due to a back injury suffered prior to Washington's season opener against Auburn. And with the senior's 2017 season having ended prematurely due to a torn ACL, Saturday marked his first game action since last October. Due to the new rules on redshirting, Adams is still eligible to return in 2019 as a redshirt senior if that remains the plan for him.
Nov 17 - 5:49 PM

Missouri redshirt junior RB Damarea Crockett (ankle) has been ruled out for the remainder of Saturday's game against Tennessee with a sprained right ankle.

Crockett had just two carries prior to the injury, rushing for four yards and catching one pass for another two yards. With the redshirt junior done for the day Missouri will rely even more on Larry Rountree III, with freshman Tyler Badie in line to receive carries when Rountree needs a break.
Nov 17 - 5:46 PM

Utah freshman QB Jason Shelley completed 11-of-23 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 30-7 win against Colorado.

The No. 19 Utes get it done on the road and in the snow despite not having their starting quarterback. Shelley threw a perfect pass deep down the middle for a 47-yard touchdown to give Utah 17-7 lead, and he threw a second pass in the red zone to put the game away. It was tough conditions for a quarterback, especially a true freshman quarterback, but Shelley showed really well. Utah will finish the regular season with a matchup against BYU next week.
Nov 17 - 5:37 PM

Ohio State HC Urban Meyer said after Saturday's win at Maryland that redshirt junior RB Mike Weber is dealing with a quadriceps injury.

While Meyer did not provide any information with regards to the severity of the injury, it does explain why Weber did not play despite being in uniform. The redshirt junior has rushed for 711 yards and four touchdowns on 127 carries this season. J.K. Dobbins was the Buckeyes' workhorse Saturday afternoon, accounting for 203 yards and a touchdown on 37 carries. Ohio State closes out its regular season Nov. 24 against Michigan.
Nov 17 - 5:35 PM

NC State junior WR Kelvin Harmon caught seven passes for 100 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 52-10 win over Louisville.

Harmon (6'3/214) has been on a tear with NFL quarterback prospect Ryan Finley throwing the ball well recently. Finley threw an accurate ball to Harmon towards the sideline for a 25-yard touchdown, but Harmon was a chain mover for the entire game. With another big game under his belt, Harmon is up to 72-1,065-6 on his junior campaign. With his quarterback headed to the NFL Draft after the season, it's fair to question if Harmon will follow after a successful season. The duo will get two more regular season games (UNC, ECU) before he makes his decision.
Nov 17 - 5:07 PM

NC State senior RB Reggie Gallaspy II rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries in Saturday's 52-10 win over Louisville.

Gallaspy (5'11/235) also caught his first receiving touchdown of his career. Quarterback Ryan Finley was excellent as a passer today, but Gallaspy made the most of his light workload by running into the end zone from one and 18 yards out. It was an ideal matchup for Gallaspy, but so was last week's game against Wake Forest when he only averaged 2.6 YPC, which shows how inconsistent the NC State running game has been this year. The Wolfpack will head to in-state rival North Carolina next week, and Gallaspy should see 10-15 carries in that contest with a shot for a score.
Nov 17 - 5:00 PM

NC State redshirt senior QB Ryan Finley completed 26-of-36 passes for 316 yards and four touchdowns in Saturday's 52-10 win over Louisville.

Finley (6'4/212) tore up a poor Louisville team by completing short and intermediate passes to his top targets Kelvin Harmon and Jakobi Meyers. The redshirt senior has been criticized for his lack of arm talent, and in his second to last game, his longest pass went for a whole 35 yards including the yards after catch. With that being said, Finley did throw an accurate, floating 25-yard touchdown pass (video in the link below) to Harmon, and that's what he does best. Finley will travel to North Carolina for his second to last regular season collegiate game before heading to the NFL Draft.
