Arsenal outside back Stephan Lichsteiner went off with a muscle injury to his knee or leg late on Thursday night against Sporting Lisbon and will miss out on Sunday's match-up with Wolves.

With Sead Kolasinac and Hector Bellerin both healthy, the likelihood of Lichsteiner featuring on Sunday was already slight. Nacho Monreal may not be ready but Ainsley Maitland-Niles is available so Arsenal would likely use the youngster at left back should Kolasinac require a deputy. On the right, Carl Jenkinson played against Sporting and would presumably deputize for Hector Bellerin if needed in Lichsteiner's absence.

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini said he hopes that forward Andy Carroll can return this month from an ankle injury.

The former Liverpool and Newcastle frontman is expected to play in a friendly this week in his first action since the preseason when he suffered a recurrence of a previous injury. But the Hammers could be in for a boost for the festive period with Jack Wilshere also starting to work with the squad. Said Pellegrini: "Andy is close to playing again. At the start of last week he started working a little bit with the squad, not 100 per cent, and he will work again this week. On Thursday we will play a friendly game and we'll see if he can play some minutes, and I think in the second week of the international break Jack Wilshere will also be able to work with the squad."

Manchester City officially announced a new three-year contract extension for star winger Raheem Sterling.

The 23-year-old will now become the third-highest player in the Premier League (behind Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil) under a new contract that will pay him up to £300,000-a-week through the 2023 season. Sterling is enjoying one of his best seasons yet with six goals and five assists through 12 games this seasons, enough to link him with a potential move to Real Madrid. Said the England international: "I’m delighted to sign. My development here has been incredible. I felt from the minute I got here it was the right choice for me. It’s really paid off for me and I’m really grateful. Every season you come in you want to do better than your previous season. You want to try and develop and get better."

An injury, picked up by Paul Pogba in Champions League on Wednesday, kept the United star out of the Manchester derby.

There had been no specific mention of a problem by Jose Mourinho during Friday mornings press conference. "No new injuries," he told MUTV. "So, from Juventus, we don't bring important injuries. We have 'touches’, but I don't think any player that was available [midweek] will be out." However, news broke in the afternoon that Pogba was training away from the main group and concerns began to grow further when he was missing as the squad checked in at their pre-match base – The Lowry Hotel – on Saturday. Mourinho explained his absence from the matchday 18 on Sunday. "Paul is injured. He was injured during the game in Turin. He felt that it was such a crucial match for the team. He made that sacrifice for us, and then it was impossible for him to recover." Pogba has been withdrawn from the France squad and will focus on recovering from a thigh complaint during the international break.

Gylfi Sigurdsson will not feature in the UEFA Nations League game against Belgium after limping off at Stamford Bridge.

Marco Silva was fuming following a nasty challenge by Chelsea midfielder Jorginho which left the Iceland international in agony. "Did you see the tackle?" the Everton boss raged. "I hope we don't lose Sigurdsson for the next matches after that tackle. I think he's not in a condition to play for the national team." The Icelandic Football Federation have now confirmed that Sigurdsson will play no part on Thursday, although they remain hopeful he could still feature against Qatar in seven days - he will have a scan this week to determine the extent of his ankle injury. Meanwhile, Everton resume their Premier League campaign on November 24 when Cardiff visit Goodison Park, and if Sigurdsson fails to recover, then Silva has a number of options to consider. One of those would be to drop Richarlison a little deeper, into the number ten role, with Cenk Tosun returning to lead the line.

David Wagner is fearing the worst after right-back Chris Lowe was stretchered from the field moments before half-time on Saturday.

The defender went down holding his right arm following a heavy collision with Fabian Balbuena and was immediately taken for a scan. "He has a shoulder [ligament] injury which looks serious," Wagner said after his sides 1-1 draw with West Ham. "He is in the hospital at the minute and we have to wait to see how serious it will be, but he will be out for a few weeks." The German has started all but one Premier League encounter, dropping to the bench against Cardiff [GW3], a fixture which saw Terence Kongolo move across onto the left flank. However, in a back four, that meant Mathias ‘Zanka’ Jorgensen playing centrally and he is suspended for the trip to Wolves after collecting his fifth caution of the campaign. If compatriot Erik Durm can remain fit, then he could possibly nail down a regular starting berth for the first time in an injury ravaged 18 months.

Manchester City dominated from the off at the Etihad and deservedly took all three points in the Manchester derby on Sunday.

City grabbed the lead early through their two Silvas. Sterling crossed to the far post to Bernardo Silva, who sent the ball across the goal for captain David Silva to finish. City held control for the rest of the half but they didn't pressure their red rivals as they had. After the break, Pep's side tried to put memories of last year's derby comeback by United to bed when Aguero riffled home, but United struck back from the penalty spot through Martial after sub Romelu Lukaku was fouled by Ederson. United pressed City and an equaliser looked possible before Ilkay Gundogan scored City's third and ended the contest.

Arsenal dominated for much of a 1-1 draw with Wolves but were fortunate to come away with a point in the end.

The Gunners waited until late to score the equalize. Henrikh Mkhitaryan sent a dangerous cross to the back post from just outside of the box that bounced through untouched and past Rui Patricio in the 86th minute to secure the point. The home side went down early when Granit Xhaka gave away a chance in midfield and Ivan Cavaleiro made Arsenal pay with a goal in the 13th minute. But Wolves had two clear chances to put Arsenal away in stoppage time, first when Adama Traore failed to finish a breakaway chance and then in the 95th when Ruben Neves hit the crossbar, missing a goal by inches. With the point, Arsenal extend their unbeaten streak to 16 matches.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will head into the international break with some reassurance after nicking a point off Arsenal.

The newly promoted side got off to an optimal start when Ivan Cavaleiro put the side ahead in the 13th minute. After Granit Xhaka failed to play a ball in midfielder, Cavaleiro sparked a counter attack, finding Raul Jimenez for a one-two before the Portuguese attacker finished past Bernd Leno for the shock lead at the Emirates. But after the Gunners pulled one back in the 86th minute, Wolves failed to convert a couple of chances in the final minutes of stoppage time, the most devastating coming when Ruben Neves hit the crossbar with a curling shot in the 95th minute.

Chelsea dominated proceedings at Stamford Bridge on Sunday as expected but Everton emerged from the tie with a creditable point after a 0-0 draw.

Yerry Mina made his full Premier League debut in place of Kurt Zouma, who is ineligible to play his parent club. Everton found themselves under a lot of pressure and struggling to create chances, registering just a single shot on target whilst Jordan Pickford was forced into a collection of saves to deny Alonso, Hazard, and Morata. The most worrying thing to emerge from the game is an apparent groin injury for club-record signing Richarlison. The starlet went off in the closing minutes, having overcome pre-match fitness doubts relating to a different injury. From that point of view, the international break may have arrived at a good time for Everton.

Chelsea maintained their unbeaten start to the season at Stamford Bridge but will be left frustrated after they spurned a number of chances to beat Everton.

The first half was a scrappy affair with both sides slow to create genuine scoring chances. The first of the half came just 5 minutes before the interval, when Marcos Alonso had a volley well saved by Jordan Pickford. Chelsea in truth struggled to create as Willian and Hazard stayed very wide, leaving Morata isolated in the centre of the attack. Pickford was a lot busier in the second half, saving well from Morata and Hazard whilst a few other chances were put off target by The Blues. There was a sense of inevitability about Chelsea, but they couldn't break the deadlock as Morata had one goal ruled out for offside and Marcos Alonso hit the post. Maurizio Sarri has some thinking to do about playing compact defences like the Toffees today.

One moment in the match turned Fulham's day from a possible dream come true into a predicted result as they would lose 2-0 to Liverpool.

The Cottagers were major underdogs in this one and, considering the manager's decision to bench Jean Michael Seri, were set up to get hammered by the Reds, but despite getting dominated in possession, they could have possibly eked out a result. The crucial moment came a few minutes before halftime with the game 0-0, when Alexsandar Mitrovic looked to have scored, but his goal was ruled offsides. Liverpool then quickly restarted and countered within seconds to score the opener. The Reds added another early in the second half and Fulham clearly backed off and went into prevent mode. The drought is on for Mitrovic who, after scoring five times in the first six games, has gone goalless in the last six.
