Harry Arter has been ruled out of game week twelve after picking up his fifth caution of the season against Leicester City.

In the build-up to the match, manager Neil Warnock had joked that the Republic of Ireland midfielder would return to the squad having missed the defeat at Anfield seven days earlier with a minor knock. "We’ve got a decent squad with Harry back - fortunately this week he hasn’t got booked in training!" But, on the stroke of half-time, Arter made it into the referees’ note book meaning he will miss the visit of Brighton on Saturday. If Warnock decides to stick with four across the middle, then Junior Hoilett is likely to come on the right with Victor Camarasa switching to a more central role alongside Arun Gunnarsson. The Bluebirds find them selves joint-bottom, only above Fulham on goal difference, although they will feel confident of a turnaround in fortunes with a kind run of fixtures through until the end of 2018.

Chris Hughton will be nervous as his troops return from the international break as he'll be hoping he won't lose any more central midfielders to injury.

Dale Stephens was sent off in the 2-1 defeat to Brighton before the international break, and will begin a three-match ban this weekend as the Seagulls face Leicester. He will also miss games against Huddersfield and Palace in the PL, returning on December 8 against Burnley if selected. Pascal Gross and Davy Propper have both been slowly returning to training from injuries and thus they are also unlikely to start in GW13. That leaves Beram Kayal, who started Brighton's last six and summer signing Yves Bissouma as the most likely combination to feature in midfielder in GW13.

Ryan Fraser racked up a goal and an assist in Scotaland's international break win over Albania.

The goal was Fraser's first in his national colors, and it was another milestone in what has been a fantastic start to the season for the diminutive winger. The goal itself was a curling effort from inside the box after receiving a pass and turning his man. Fraser also set up a goal for James Forrest to complete the rout 4-0 rout. The end of Bournemouth's good run of fixtures means that the in-form Fraser is suddenly being considered as a disposable asset in fantasy teams, however with Arsenal to come in GW13, managers would do well to be patient with him. The Cherries are in the top-six for a reason and currently sit just four points behind the Gunners whose defence has been about as resilient as Howe's men's.

Manchester City playmaker Bernardo Silva will miss the UEFA Nations League game against Poland on Tuesday evening following his release from the Portugal squad.

On Monday, a statement from the Portuguese Football Federation read: "Following medical and diagnostic tests performed by the FPF Health and Performance Unit, the player Bernardo Silva was considered unavailable for the meeting against Poland." Silva came through 90 minutes in Italy last week with no apparent problems, although he was absent from training as the group prepared for their final qualifying game in Guimarães. The specifics of the problem are not yet known and further tests will be carried out on his return to the Etihad Campus. City supporters can at least take some hope from the fact that Bernardo was also released early from the last international get together due to a muscle-related injury, but he was cleared to play in the following domestic fixture, starting, and scoring in the 5-0 rout over Burnley.

It hasn’t been a great few weeks in terms of injuries for Manchester United, but the pause in Premier League proceedings may have come at just the right time for Jose Mourinho.

Paul Pogba, who missed the derby defeat to rivals City after aggravating a thigh injury in Turin, has responded well to treatment during his time off and looks to be in contention for the visit of Crystal Palace. Anthony Martial [groin] is another who should recover in time for game week 13 - Romelu Lukaku [hamstring] and Marouane Fellaini [Achilles] are flagged as early doubts. Meanwhile, the break afforded Antonio Valencia his first competitive minutes in over a month and Jesse Lingard managed to get on the scoresheet for England having recently recovered from a post-World Cup groin issue. Victor Lindelof has been cleared of injury - his withdrawal in Turkey was due to illness – and the defender is already back on the training pitches. And on Monday, Diogo Dalot revealed he is "ready to help" the team again having been sidelined since mid-October.

Ryan Fredericks has been ruled out for the remainder of the year after picking up an injury during the 1-1 draw at Huddersfield Town.

The 26-year-old was making his first Premier League appearance in over two months at the John Smith’s Stadium following his introduction for Pablo Zabaleta. Manuel Pellegrini confirmed in his post-match press conference, that Fredericks had sustained an injury and would go to hospital for further tests. "Ryan has a twist in his ankle, he cannot walk, so we played the last five minutes with one player less. We will see tomorrow with the doctors how bad it is." Although there has been no official update, several media outlets have reported that Fredericks will be sidelined for around three months, but there does seem to be a little confusion over the precise nature of the injury. None mention the ankle as revealed by Pellegrini, but instead reference the shin or knee, so I would advise you to treat the timeline with care until the club release additional information.

Bournemouth will be without the services Adam Smith until 2019 after the defender had surgery.

The full-back was stretchered off at St James’ Park in game week twelve after his right knee gave way following a heavy challenge by Matt Ritchie. Smith fell to the turf as he prepared himself for a free-kick and there were fears that the injury could be season-ending. "It looks like a serious one, we won't know until it's scanned but it doesn't look good," Eddie Howe said after the defeat to Newcastle. "I don't think it's a cruciate but it would be foolish of me to give a clear view without a scan." However, following an extensive medical assessment, the injury is better than initially anticipated with no ligament damage and the 27-year-old underwent a procedure to repair a cartilage tear. The setback is expected to keep him sidelined for up to three months. Smith has started every Premier League game this season, but his absence could open the door for Charlie Daniels, himself just back after a knee injury.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are facing a potential wing-back crisis ahead of their game against Huddersfield Town this weekend.

After suffering a facial injury at the Emirates in week twelve, Matt Doherty was withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland squad. The 26-year-old has enjoyed a fine start to his debut season in the top-flight, but his involvement hangs in the balance due to a cheekbone injury which has been assessed by a specialist. And, on the opposite flank, Nuno Espírito Santo will be without Jonny Castro Otto until Christmas after he suffered a knee ligament injury during Spain’s 1-0 friendly win over Bosnia. An update from the Spanish Football Federation read: "[Otto] suffers a partial tear of the internal lateral ligament of his knee that has been detected in the tests carried out. It is estimated a loss of 5 or 6 weeks." While Ruben Vinagre appears to be the obvious choice on the left, if Doherty misses out, then Wolves have no natural replacement on the right. Ryan Bennett or Adama Traore could be called upon to deputise.

Jordan Henderson could be at the centre of club versus country row after Gareth Southgate revealed the Liverpool skipper has aggravated a muscle issue.

Henderson only made his Liverpool return last weekend, coming on as a second half substitute in the win over Fulham, having missed the previous four matches with a hamstring related problem. Henderson then joined his international team-mates at St George’s Park before, he was once again introduced from the bench in the Rooney swansong at Wembley against the United States. However, Henderson was absent from the matchday squad in UEFA Nations League on Sunday and Southgate confirmed his withdrawal from the squad to face Croatia was forced. "Jordan has been carrying a bit of an injury and had some game time the other night and wasn't really happy with it. He is someone who always wants to play so I had to make that decision." The setback is guaranteed to irk Jurgen Klopp who will be concerned that his captain was risked in a meaningless friendly ahead of a busy festive fixture period.

Victor Lindelof is expected to be okay for the Premier League clash with Crystal Palace after being cleared of injury.

The Manchester United defender was replaced at half-time in Turkey on Saturday with early reports suggesting Lindelof had suffered a muscle related problem. However, following Sweden’s Nations League win, head coach Janne Andersson moved quickly to allay growing fears. "Victor did not feel well but he finished the first half." Then, speaking on Swedish sports television channel SportExpressen, team-mate Andreas Granqvist revealed. "I think he felt a little bad before the match and felt a bit dizzy when he started. He felt drowsy and without energy and could not continue. It was a cold. He felt ineffective." The 2018 Swedish Player of the Year has faced many critics since his arrival at Old Trafford, but the 24-year-old is enjoying his best run in the side, only missing the win over Newcastle this season. Lindelof was praised for his outstanding performance in Turin recently after United secured a famous win over a Juventus side led by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Paul Dummett picked up an injury while representing Wales on Friday evening which could leave Newcastle United without a specialist left-back for the game at Turf Moor.

Dummett was making his first start for the senior side, but his night ended on a sour note when he was replaced in the 39th minute following a cynical challenge on Yussuf Poulsen. He injured himself in the tackle which also earned him a caution – Chris Gunter came on in his place and the Reading defender will play in Albania on Tuesday. There is no word on the extent of his injury, but if Dummett does miss out in game week 13, then Rafa Benitez may decide to alter his formation against Burnley. Both Kenedy and Javier Manquillo have deputised on the left in a back four, but given the form of Frederico Fernandez and Fabian Schär recently, plus the expected return of captain Jamaal Lascelles, Benitez could opt for three centre-halves with DeAndre Yedlin and Kenedy providing the width in a 3-5-2.

Antonio Valencia marked his return to competitive action with a goal in Ecuador’s 2-0 win over Peru during the early hours of Friday morning.

The Red Devils captain started for the first time since October, and speaking after the friendly, Valencia suggested that his recent absence from the United squad was a tactical decision, rather than injury-related. "The relationship with Mourinho has always been a good one," he told Area Deportiva radio. "The player who has been in my place [Ashley Young] has been playing well. You have to respect the decision." However, this contradicts Mourinho’s comments from earlier this month which suggested Valencia was unavailable for selection. "I watched something funny in his Instagram where he says 'work, work, work' in the gym," he said. "He should say 'work, work, work’ alone because I am injured, and I cannot train with the team." Jose criticised Valencia’s lack of fitness at the start of the campaign after he limped off after just 7 minutes in a pre-season friendly against San Jose because of a calf problem.
