Fulham made several acquisitions on deadline day, none bigger than their club record £22.3m transfer in of Andre-Frank Anguissa from Marseille.

Sky reports the figure at £22.3m but the deal could wind up costing the Cottagers a total of around £30m when all is said and done. The 22-year-old Cameroon international plays as a central midfielder and figures to knock Kevin McDonald out of the anchor role. He may not be in position to start the weekend, but will likely lock down a regular role very soon. He leaves little to be excited about in terms of an FPL prospect, as his 4.5m price tag speaks for itself. But, he does add an extra name to the fray of minimum priced midfielders for managers looking for an enabler to round out that position.

Manchester City fear Claudio Bravo could be ruled out for the remainder of the season after he suffered a serious Achilles injury during training.

The club confirmed on Monday that the Chilean goalkeeper had a scan which revealed a rupture of the tendon in his left foot. Bravo has been scheduled to fly out to Barcelona on Thursday to meet with Pep Guardiola’s trusted lieutenant - Dr Ramon Cugat - who will decide on the best course of action, which will most likely be surgery. The setback leaves Ederson as the only available goalkeeper with first-team experience following the departure of Joe Hart to Burnley during the summer window. But, even though the transfer deadline has now passed, clubs are allowed to sign emergency loan players [or a free agent] in the event of a such an injury. Barcelona stopper Jasper Cillessen would be an ideal short-term fix, but during the interim, 20-year-old Daniel Grimshaw is expected to provide back-up even though he has just 18 career appearances for the development side.

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw will be assessed after picking up a knock on his left-foot during the 3-2 defeat at Brighton.

The 23-year-old fell down the pecking order in 2017/18 and seemed surplus to requirements with many believing Shaw was primed to leave Old Trafford. But, with Marcos Rojo injured and Daley Blind now at Ajax, Shaw was handed his chance in the opener due to the late return of Ashley Young [post-World Cup], and he didn’t disappoint scoring the winner with his first senior goal. "He made one mistake in 90 minutes, he was very good defensively," said Mourinho after the victory. "He had a good pre-season." However, ESPN report that Shaw was involved in clashes either side of half-time and, despite being able to complete the game, he will be managed carefully over the next week to ensure he is fit to face Spurs. United will be looking to bounce back and should have Nemanja Matic and Antonio Valencia back with the group following their return to training on Thursday.

Even on a day when they weren’t at their best, Liverpool proved to be too much for Crystal Palace in a 2-0 win.

The Liverpool attack wasn’t as potent as their 4-0 season-opening win against West Ham, but the Reds’ defense continued to dominate with another clean sheet—the club has conceded only one goal in its last five Premier League games dating back to last season. James Milner opened the scoring with a penalty in the 45th minute when former Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho brought down Mohamed Salah in the box. Salah caused problems all evening for Palace, later drawing a foul that sent of a palace defender before assisting on the final goal of the game, a stoppage-time tally from Sadio Mane to put him tied atop the goal leaderboard.

Crystal Palace couldn’t build upon the momentum of a season-opening win in a 2-0 loss to Liverpool on Monday night.

After a 2-0 triumph over Fulham last week, Roy Hodgson’s side was squeezed by Liverpool’s relentless press and devastating counter attack from the start, averaging only 36 percent possession while taking only two shots on target. But the Eagles defense held tight until the end of the first half when former Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho fouled Mohamed Salah in the penalty area, which led to a James Milner penalty. Matters only worsened when FPL favorite Aaron Wan-Bissaka saw red when he took down Salah on a breakaway in the 75th minute. The young fullback, who is the third most popular defender in the FPL.com game at £4.1, will miss the club’s next match.

Morgan Schneiderlin has emerged as an early doubt for the trip to Bournemouth after limping off against his former employers.

The box-to-box midfielder suffered what was described as a "small problem" and now his involvement at the Vitality hangs in the balance. Having impressed in recent weeks, the Everton boss will be hoping Schneiderlin can feature against Eddie Howe’s men who sit joint top of the Premier League following back-to-back victories. "It is still really early to say any more about that," Marco Silva said. "It looks a small problem in his muscle but we have to wait a few more hours. I hope it’s nothing serious." Tom Davies came on as his replacement, and even though "he did really well," Silva admitted it did change the complexion of the game, particularly on set-pieces, and they will seek other solutions should Schneiderlin fail to recover. Bernardo could come into the managers thinking but Andre Gomes won’t be ready as he continues his recovery from a hamstring strain.

Isaac Hayden has apologised for his dismissal at Cardiff and vows to do his "upmost to repair" the mistake.

The 23-year-old was introduced at the beginning of the second half, as a makeshift right-back, after Javier Manquillo failed to recover from the ankle injury he suffered just before the break. However, it was a brief cameo for Hayden, who was sent-off following a rash challenge on Bluebirds winger Josh Murphy. "Have to apologise to everyone for today, was a needless tackle and one that was stupid from me in that circumstance in the game. Will learn from it for sure and will be doing my upmost to repair my mistake today, for my team-mates, manager and staff and fans in the future," Hayden posted from his personal Twitter account. The red card topped a truly miserable day in the Welsh capital which saw Kenedy miss a penalty in time added while the Brazilian also faces the prospect of a three-match ban after match officials missed him kicking out at Victor Camarasa.

Right-back Matt Doherty experienced a range of emotions at the King Power on Saturday as Wolves were beaten 2-0 by ten-man Leicester.

The Republic of Ireland international missed a gilt-edged opportunity to put the visitors one-up before his spectacular own-goal, against the run of play, gave Leicester the lead. Then, on 66 minutes, Doherty was on the receiving end of a Jamie Vardy challenge which ended his afternoon. Fortunately, the injury does not appear to be too serious. "He's okay," confirmed Wolverhampton Wanderers correspondent for the Express and Star Tim Spiers. "[He’s] got stud marks down his leg but as his foot wasn't planted, it doesn't seem there's any damage." The news will be welcomed by manager Nuno Espírito Santo with Man City heading to Molineux next weekend, a game which could see Adama Traore handed his first start following minutes from the bench. Leicester boss Claude was quick to defend Vardy who will begin a three-match ban. "He didn't want to make a foul. He touches the ball and was perhaps a bit too enthusiastic."

Alexis Sanchez could be sidelined for up-to two weeks after picking up an unspecified injury on the eve of the game with Brighton.

Concerns began to grow on Sunday morning when the Chile star was missing from the 20-man squad boarding a private jet, sparking rumours that he would miss out on the south coast. Those fears were well-placed as United made three changes at the AMEX Stadium which included the omission Sanchez. "Alexis was going to play but he had a little problem," revealed Jose Mourinho prior to kick-off. His absence afforded Romelu Lukaku his first start of the season while Marcus Rashford made way for Anthony Martial who was a surprise inclusion. But while the Belgium took full advantage, opening his account, Martial was hooked after an hour following a lacklustre performance. Post-match Mourinho revealed he is unsure when Sanchez will return. "I don’t know really. Let’s wait for the results of the studies, but I don’t think it’s a big thing. I think it will be one or two weeks maximum."

Romelu Lukaku opened his account for the season but Manchester United were again lackluster as they fell to Brighton 3-2 at the AmEx Stadium.

The Red Devils were without Alexis Sanchez who was a late scratch with a minor knock. The cumulative impact of Sanchez's absence and the other drama in the squad seemed to have an impact as the hosts led from the 25th minute. They doubled their lead two minutes later and never trailed. Expect the frenzy around the discontent between manager and players to grow to a fever pitch this coming week as the recriminations for the unexpected loss fly in the press.

Pascal Gross converted a penalty just before halftime and gave Brighton sufficient margin to see out their 3-2 home win over Manchester United on Sunday.

It was the first big scalp of the season by a mid-table side over one of the big boys. Glenn Murray and Shane Duffy scored in the 25th and 27th minutes respectively to give the home team a 2-0 lead. Manchester United clawed a goal back through Romelu Lukaku but it was Gross converting a penalty just before halftime that gave Chris Houghton's side the necessary goals to withstand Paul Pogba's penalty late in stoppage time of the second half. The win will be a massive early boost the Brighton's survival campaign.

Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick as Manchester City cruised to a very comfortable 6-1 win over Huddersfield Town at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola's decision to alter his tactics and leave Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling and Kyle Walker out of the starting XI paid significant dividends in their home opener. The hosts were running on 25 minutes. Ederson sharpy picked out Aguero an with an 80-yard pass, and the striker drew out Ben Hamer, kept his composure, and chipped the goalkeeper for his first of the day. Gabriel Jesus added a second seven minutes later before Aguero jumped on a Hamer mistake to poke home soon after. Jon Gorenc Stankovic pulled one back just before half-time, but David Silva netted a brilliant free-kick shortly after the restart to quell a potential turnaround. Aguero completed his ninth PL hat-trick with a flick on 75 minutes, while substitute Sane forced an own goal for the sixth late on.
