The Winnipeg Jets have signed Nicolas Kerdiles to a one-year, two-way contract.

The 24-year-old was acquired from the Anaheim Ducks in June. He had no points in two games with the Ducks last season. Kerdiles added 15 goals and 34 points in 49 AHL games. He'll earn $650,000 if he's able to stick around at the NHL level.

Senators assistant GM Randy Lee has resigned from his position.

Lee also served as the GM of the AHL's Belleville Senators. It's been an off-season to forget for him, as he was charged with two different counts of harassment from an incident that occurred with a 19-year-old shuttle bus driver in Buffalo. The organization has already said that they're going to start searching for his replacement right away.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau ranks second in shorthanded points over the last three seasons.

Pageau has picked up eight goals and four assists over the last three seasons while his team is playing shorthanded. Only Bruins forward Brad Marchand has more (15). The 25-year-old had 29 points in 78 games last season. He shouldn't pop up on your radar in standard fantasy leagues.

Vernon Fiddler will join the Dallas Stars coaching staff this season in a skills/development role.

He will also spend time with Dallas' AHL affiliate, the Texas Stars. He announced his retirement in September of last year having skated in 877 career NHL contests with Nashville, Arizona, New Jersey and Dallas.

Jason Chimera is "unsure" if he would accept a professional tryout offer from a team.

Chimeria, 39, is approaching training camp season without a contract for the first time in his career. He's a 17-year NHL veteran with 415 points to his name. He had back-to-back 20-goal seasons from 2015-17, but his game appears to have dropped off after only scoring three times in 74 games last season. This might be the end of the road for the former fifth round pick.

Brandon Davidson has reportedly received a professional tryout offer from the Edmonton Oilers and several other teams.

He has also received a few contracts offers but has yet to sign any of them seeing as they are all two-way contracts. The 27-year-old blueliner split last season between Montreal, Edmonton and the New York Islanders. He's nothing more than a depth defenseman.
