Maxime Lagace will probably continue to serve as Vegas' backup goalie when the Stanley Cup Final begins Monday night.

Lagace has been Marc-Andre Fleury's understudy since Game 3 of the Western Conference Final. Malcolm Subban has been out of action due to an undisclosed issue. Lagace has been learning a great deal from Fleury during his stint in the lineup. "I'm watching Flower and how calm he is and how much fun he's having and I just follow what he does," he said. "But I'll be ready if I'm needed."

Jeff Glass has been excellent for Rockford against Texas in the Western Conference Final of the AHL Calder Cup Playoffs.

Glass has won two straight starts, while posting a 1.47 goals-against average and .958 save percentage. He entered the series in Game 4 after Collin Delia had a 4.09 GAA and .852 save percentage in the first three matches. Rockford is down 3-2 in the series with Game 6 set for Monday night.

James Neal has taken on a leadership role with the Golden Knights.

"The young guys are good like that," said Neal. "We can say things to help them out in other ways. For us, it's about leading by example with your work ethic and demeanor and the way you carry yourselves throughout the game and the ups and downs in a series. I think we've done a good job of that so far." He was in the Stanley Cup Final last year when his Nashville Predators lost in six games to Marc-Andre Fleury's Pittsburgh Penguins. Fleury, who has 13 matches of Stanley Cup Final experience, is the only other member of the Golden Knights to have made it this far in the NHL postseason. Neal played in the series with a broken hand and he's motivated to come away with a championship this time around.

Andre Burakovsky is projected to stay on the third line for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final.

That shouldn't come as a surprise after Burakovsky came up big in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final against Tampa Bay with a two-goal performance. He has skated alongside Lars Eller and Brett Connolly for Washington's last two practices.

Luca Sbisa has played well for Vegas since he got back into the lineup during the second round.

Sbisa had been sidelined since Feb. 27 due to an undisclosed injury. "When you're sitting there, watching all these games, it eats at your confidence a bit," he said. "But I told myself, 'You know what, you're the same player you were before. You just took some weeks off.' And the guys did a great job of keeping my conditioning up with specific drills. For me, it was just a matter of getting back to that comfort level pretty quickly and I think I found it right away." He has become a trusted defender on the Golden Knights and he has contributed two assists in seven playoff outings. Sbisa is eligible for unrestricted free agency in July.

William Carrier (undisclosed) seems doubtful for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final.

Carrier skated for a second straight time on Sunday at Vegas practice in a non-contact jersey. He hasn't played since May 4, but there is hope that he will be ready before the end of the series. Tomas Tatar and Oscar Lindberg were extras during the session.
