NHL Plays: January 10

Thursday, January 10, 2019

DRAFT is back for another season of quick and exciting daily fantasy action. Their DFS platform offers poolies with a chance to participate in a format that most of us have grown very accustomed to over the years. You can compete in a live snake draft in which the participants take a player with each pick. Unlike other DFS games, this gives you the opportunity to use your knowledge to craft a team that no one else will have because the players you select cannot be chosen by your competition.

The draft is quick as you are allotted just 30 seconds per pick and you take five players. Your team is comprised of three forwards, a defenseman and a goalie.

Your strategy can be dictated by the positions being selected ahead of you. For instance, if you are going last and everyone else has a goaltender then you can wait until your last pick to make that selection. Of course, selecting players going up against weaker competition or players who are riding hot streaks are always popular strategies as well.

Remember, there are new pools available to play in but the players in my rankings will fall off the table as soon as the puck drops in their respective game.

Familiarize yourself with the rues and enjoy! It’s a great game! Thursday’s 12-game slate features 10-person, eight-person, six-person and plenty of three-person drafts. There are also head-to-heads to participate in.

Editor's Note: If you love Fantasy Football you have to be playing on DRAFT. It's daily fantasy football snake drafts instead of salary caps. All the fun of season long drafts but with no management and they last for just one week. They take minutes to complete and there's even auction drafts! No more setting lineups or constantly worrying about pros, just draft and win! Right now DRAFT is giving Rotoworld readers an exclusive FREE entry into a real money draft when you make your first deposit! Here's the link

Forward Rankings:

It’s a packed slate on Thursday, so as you can expect there are plenty of great options to choose from and lines to stack. Kucherov has been a scoring machine with 36 points in the last 17 games. He has multi-point efforts in nine of the last 11 contests. McDavid and Tavares have the most appeal afterward. Bergeron is worth highlighting as well, with three multi-point performances in the past four games, while Seguin is riding a six-game point streak, which includes three two-goal efforts. The top line of Florida has great upside as well versus the struggling Oilers.

Defense Rankings:

Karlsson has earned at least one point in 14 consecutive appearances. He has been piling up points after a sluggish start with the Sharks. Burns has been hot of late too and could easily go ahead of Rielly, but the Leafs defender has two goals and one assist in two previous games versus New Jersey this year which makes him an attractive option. Klingberg has gotten his groove back with one goal and five helpers in the last five games. Trouba makes the list because he has exploded for five points in his last two outings.

Goaltender Rankings:

Vasilevskiy is coming off a shutout and remains the top option in the crease. He went 2-0-0 against Carolina last year with a 2.50 goals-against average and .922 save percentage. Fleury has already blanked the Sharks this season and is riding a five-game win streak. Lehner, Hutchinson and Khudobin have favorable matchups, which make them appealing options.
