NHL Plays: Wednesday

Wednesday, February 7, 2018

NHL Plays will look at some players to consider adding while building your lineups. Remember to check back on this page later in the day for confirmations on starting goalies and keep an eye on Rotoworld’s daily blurbs for all your fantasy hockey needs.

Keep in mind that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UT).

Nashville will play the first game of a back-to-back situation, while Boston will skate for the second time in two nights.

Editor's Note: Rotoworld’s Season Pass is now available for the low price of $19.99. You get plenty of extra articles including the minor league report, the junior report and much, much more. Buy it now!

Brad Marchand (BOS) - W - $8,300 (FanDuel), $7,400 (DraftKings)

Marchand will be back from his five-game suspension on Wednesday night. He was scorching hot before the ban with six goals and 12 assists for 18 points in just nine games. Marchand will be back on the top line alongside Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak. Bergeron and Pastrnak have continued to rack up points without him. The top trio of the Bruins, or at least parts of it, will no doubt figure prominently on most rosters on Wednesday against a Rangers team that has been leaky defensively this year, especially recently.

Kevin Fiala (NSH) - W - $5,000 (FanDuel), $6,100 (DraftKings)

Fiala has seven goals, including three two-goal performances, and two assists in his last nine outings. He is on quite the roll going into what could be a high-scoring game versus Toronto on Wednesday night. Fiala has excellent bargain value on FanDuel and could be a great stack play with Kyle Turris, who has enjoyed plenty of success in the past against Toronto (10 goals and 11 assists in 26 career games).

Mitch Marner (TOR) - W - $5,900 (FanDuel), $5,400 (DraftKings)

The top line of the Leafs was on fire Monday night against Anaheim and should be a popular play again Wednesday, but a stack of Nazem Kadri and Mitch Marner has great potential against Nashville and won't be nearly as expensive. Marner has netted five goals and he has added one assist in the past eight games. He has missed the scoresheet once in his last six matches and he has been shooting with regularity since he was promoted to a line with Kadri and Patrick Marleau. Marner also had one goal and three helpers in two contests versus Nashville last season.

Jake Gardiner (TOR) - D - $4,700 (FanDuel), $4,800 (DraftKings)

Gardiner has piled up 13 assists in nine outings going into Wednesday’s match versus Nashville. He has posted three helpers in a single game three times during that span. Gardiner also picked up two assists in two matches against the Predators last year.

Jake Muzzin (LAK) - D - $4,900 (FanDuel), $5,500 (DraftKings)

Muzzin has made his way onto the scoresheet in nine of his last 10 appearances. He has registered three goals and six assists in eight matches since he returned from an upper-body injury. Muzzin has earned a power-play point in five of the last six games and he is a great source of blocked shots.

Michael Grabner (NYR) - W - $4,600 (FanDuel), $3,400 (DraftKings)

Grabner has accounted for two goals and two assists in his last four appearances versus Boston. He has made his way onto the scoresheet in both meetings against the Bruins this season with one goal, one assist and two shots. Grabner could be an option for those looking to save some cap space.

Los Angeles forward Alex Iafallo ($3,900 FanDuel, $3,500 DraftKings) is another low-priced option who has upside. He has been playing with Anze Kopitar for most of the year and he has finally started to produce with three goals and four assists over an 11-game strech. That includes four points in his last five contests.

Probable Goaltenders:

Nashville (Pekka Rinne) @ Toronto (Frederik Andersen) Confirmed

Boston (Anton Khudobin) Confirmed @ NY Rangers (Henrik Lundqvist)

Edmonton (Cam Talbot) Confirmed @ Los Angeles (Jonathan Quick)
