Point Guards

Dejounte Murray Spurs 45% owned in Yahoo! leagues - Murray is kind of hot for the Spurs, averaging 13.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.0 steals, 1.6 blocks and 0.2 3-pointers over his last five games. The lack of threes and assists isn’t very point-guard like, but the steals, blocks and boards are pretty fun. And he’s also scored in double digits in eight straight games.

Trey Burke Knicks 27% – Burke isn’t as hot as he was at the end of last week, but he’s scored in double figures in four straight games and is averaging 20.5 points, 5.3 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.8 3-pointers over that stretch. His minutes dipped to just 19 on Friday, but he’s probably going to have more big games as the Knicks play musical point guards to end the season.

J.J. Barea Mavericks 33% - Barea finally fell off on Friday, hitting 2-of-7 shots for six points and three assists, but he’s also averaging 13.2 points, 2.0 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 2.2 3-pointers over his last five games. I like him better when he’s starting, but he’s coming off the bench again for the Mavs. He’d scored in double figures in six straight before Friday’s dud, and should be ready to bounce back in the next one.

Emmanuel Mudiay 17% - Mudiay has been a mixed bag and you never know if or when his shot might be falling. But he’s averaging 25 minutes, 11.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.6 3-pointers on 38 percent shooting over his last five. His shooting is nothing to write home about, making him a pretty borderline point guard to own right now. All we really know is that the Knicks are going to keep giving him run as the season winds down.

Kobi Simmons Grizzlies 0% - Kobi played 20 minutes on Saturday and had 14 points, two assists and a steal on 6-of-9 shooting. He’s literally the last point guard standing for the Grizzlies, and while there are no guarantees he’ll help your fantasy team, he should get some nice run for as long as the other guards are hurting in Memphis, and we know he’s available in your league. He’s a four-game streaming option that could have a nice week.

Shooting Guards

Bogdan Bogdanovic Kings 48% - Bogdan is still feeling it, averaging 16.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.4 blocks and 2.4 3-pointers on 46 percent shooting over his last five. It looks like he’s guaranteed heavy minutes until the end of the season and he should be owned everywhere.

Buddy Hield Kings 56% - Hield’s cold right now, hitting just 12-of-37 shots over his last three games, but he’s averaging 30.2 minutes over his last five, along with 13.6 points, 5.2 boards, 2.2 assists, 0.6 steals, 0.8 blocks and 1.8 3-pointers in those games. He’s young, is going to play a lot of minutes the rest of the way and should break out of his funk sooner than later.

Dwyane Wade Heat 63% - Wade scored 27 on Tuesday and 25 on Thursday before chilling with 11 points and six boards on Saturday. His next missed game could be just around the corner, but he’s getting about 25 minutes a night and the Heat are running low on shooting guards. I think he’s worth the risk right now and the Heat play four times this week.

Caris LeVert Nets 12% (and Allen Crabbe 52%) - LeVert is back from his knee injury and is averaging just 10 points on 12-of-29 shooting over his last three games in 20 minutes per. Allen Crabbe (52%) is the guy you want to own here, but he’s probably not available in your league. Crabbe has scored between 20 and 24 points in three of his last five games, and is holding LeVert back. But LeVert could start to come on if he can stay healthy, and Crabbe could cool off at any time, making LeVert worth a deep-league look. But again, if Crabbe’s available, he’s the guy I’d pick up here.

Ben McLemore Grizzlies 1% - The Grizz have run out of healthy guards and B-Mac is one of the last ones standing. He had 12 points in 30 minutes on Friday and 20 points, seven boards, four assists, a steal and two 3-pointers on Saturday. I don’t trust him, but B-Mac and Kobi Simmons could get a lot of run this week if guys like Andrew Harrison, Mario Chalmers and Tyreke Evans all remain out with their various injuries. And B-Mac goes four times this week.
