Games Played Week 16

4 Games: ATL, BKN, BOS, CHA, DEN, IND, MEM, MIA, MIL, MIN, NYK, OKC, PHI, PHX, POR, TOR

3 Games: CLE, DAL, DET, GSW, HOU, LAL, NOP, ORL, SAC, SAS, UTA, WAS

2 Games: CHI, LAC

Point Guards

Dejounte Murray Spurs 50 percent owned in Yahoo! leagues – Murray is starting and playing well for the Spurs now, averaging 11.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.2 steals over his last five games. He double-doubled on Tuesday and missed another one by one rebound on Friday against Philly. I’m generally not a fan of owning Spurs and Murray doesn’t hit many 3-pointers, but if he’s available in my league, I’m picking him up.

Yogi Ferrell Mavs 19% - Ferrell’s been a bit hit-or-miss lately and had a 5-point dud on Friday when he hit just 2-of-9 shots, but he bounced back on Saturday with 12 points, three rebounds, four assists and a 3-pointer on 5-of-13 shooting in 31 minutes. While his numbers tend to fluctuate, he’s still getting a consistent 30 minutes a night right now and should have a solid three-game week in front of him. Over his last five, he’s averaging 11.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.8 steals on 40 percent shooting, but I get the sense he’s going to have a good week.

Tyler Johnson Heat 41% - Johnson missed five games with an ankle injury and finally returned to action on Saturday, when he had eight points, three rebounds, two assists, a steal and a 3-pointer in 21 minutes. He’s been a ninth-round fantasy player this season and should help owners in almost every category except for blocks.

Jerian Grant Bulls 10% – Grant’s filling in for Kris Dunn (concussion) and was fantastic with 22 points, five boards, 13 assists, two steals, a block and two 3-pointers on Monday. And while his last two games weren’t nearly as fun, he’s still averaging 8.0 points, 5.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 3-pointers in them. We still don’t know when Dunn will be cleared to play again, but the Bulls only have two games this week, making it feel like the last hurrah for Grant.

Terry Rozier Celtics 19% - Marcus Smart’s hand injury will keep him out for a couple weeks and the Celtics go four times this week. Rozier is averaging 12 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 3-pointers over his last two games, getting 24 minutes in each of them. He’s not a must-own player, but with the big week ahead and without Smart around, he should have four pretty good opportunities this week.

Shooting Guards

Wayne Ellington Heat 44% – Ellington has essentially become a must-own player, averaging 17.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.8 steals and 4.2 3-pointers on 45 percent shooting. The only question left is why is he not owned in more leagues?

Buddy Hield Kings 61% – Hield’s been on my list all year due to his potential and he’s finally starting to come around, scoring in double figures in four straight games and averaging 15.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.6 blocks and 2.8 3-pointers on 52 percent shooting over his last five games. And he went off in his most recent game on Thursday when he hit 10-of-15 shots and four triples for 24 points and five rebounds.

Joe Harris Nets 8% - Harris had his string of double-digit scoring games broken at eight games when he scored just nine points on Saturday. He played 31 minutes in that one and added five rebounds, two assists and a steal, but didn’t make a 3-pointer, which broke a string of 10 straight games with at least one hit from downtown. His five-game averages are 12.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2.2 3-pointers on 55 percent shooting, making him worth a look if you need 3-pointers.

Bojan Bogdanovic Pacers 37% - Bogdanovic disappeared on Saturday and only had nine points in 23 minutes, but had been playing well before that game. He’d scored in double figures in four straight, has been stealing the ball, hitting threes and grabbing rebounds. He should bounce back in the next one and he plays four games this week.

Terrance Ferguson Thunder 2% – Andre Roberson is out for the season after injuring his knee on Saturday so Ferguson is going to play. He had a couple nice games when Roberson was out earlier in the season, but quickly fizzled out and never got hot again. Maybe it will be Alex Abrines who steps up in the absence of Roberson, but Ferguson has hit at least one 3-pointer in five straight games and has potential based on his 9-of-12 shooting night when he had 24 points, six triples and three steals on Jan. 3. Just keep an eye on him in case he takes off with Roberson out.
