Friday, February 2, 2018

Welcome to AM's Perfect XI - Week 26 player picks. This column focuses on Togga's Perfect XI game which you can play via their IOS and Android app. Download the apps via the link below and make sure you update regularly to take advantage of the constant enhancements:

Download the Togga app

Once downloaded, open the app and register an account. Once registered, click the Fantasy tab at the bottom of the app screen. Then from the Fantasy screen, click the arrow at the top of the app screen to select Perfect XI.

We've set up a Rotoworld PL Private League where you can challenge myself and the rest of the RW PL team over the course of the season. To join it download the app and then click the below link from your device, or find us from the Featured Leagues tab:

Each week I provide a Perfect XI of my own for the upcoming gameweek of Premier League fixtures, recommending 11 players to consider along with some honourable mentions for each position. The main 11 players listed won't necessarily be the exact players selected for my own Perfect XI fantasy side. The point of this column isn't to tell you exactly who to pick; it's to present some ideas to get you thinking. Hopefully you'll find the advice useful, whether you're playing Togga's game or looking at potential transfers for your official Fantasy Premier League team.

Week 25 was a bit of an improvement as my team ended on 150 points. This moves me back in to the PXI Overall Top 150, although it could've been better if I'd remembered to check line-ups and replaced the absent Riyad Mahrez before kick-off.

We're back to a standard round of weekend fixtures for Week 26, with Burnley hosting high-flying Manchester City in the early Saturday kick-off. It's important to have your fantasy team locked in ready for this match but remember in Perfect XI you can swap out a player from your squad right up to one minute before their match kicks off and bring in an alternative player whose match is also yet to kick off. This wonderful flexibility allows you to avoid the pain of a surprise benching or unreported last minute injury and a big fat ZERO. Just make sure you keep an eye on the starting line-ups as kick off approaches each week by following the Rotoworld PL Twitter account.

Here are your Week 26 fixtures:

Saturday 3rd February
Burnley v Man City
Bournemouth v Stoke
Brighton v West Ham
Leicester v Swansea
Man Utd v Huddersfield
West Brom v Southampton
Arsenal v Everton

Sunday 4th February
Crystal Palace v Newcastle
Liverpool v Spurs

Monday 5th February
Watford v Chelsea

As always we'll focus on players from the teams who should win comfortably this weekend. Manchester United at home to Huddersfield, Manchester City away at Burnley and Arsenal at home to Everton appear to be the main attractions. Leicester at home to Swansea look good on paper but the Mahrez factor has to be considered, while Chelsea must bounce back away at struggling Watford. I also like the look of Bournemouth at home to Stoke, West Brom at home to Southampton and there should be goals between Liverpool and Spurs.

Due to the quick turnaround here is a very quick run through of the players I'm considering this weekend:

KEEPERS
David De Gea - at home to Huddersfield. Clean sheet a'hoy.

Honourable Mentions: Ben Foster at home to Southampton, Ederson away at Burnley

DEFENDERS
Luke Shaw - at home to Huddersfield. Should come back in for Ashley Young at left back. In form on the pitch and in fantasy.
Shkodran Mustafi - at home to Everton. Consistent performer in PXI this season. Clean sheet opportunity.
Craig Dawson - at home to Southampton. I had a hunch Lascelles would score last week and I was right. This week the hunch falls on Dawson.
Charlie Daniels - at home to Stoke. His stats have been disappointing this season but a new left-wing back role should change that.

Honourable Mentions:  Marcos Alonso away at Watford, Patrick van Aanholt at home to Newcastle, Harry Maguire at home to Swansea, Kyle Walker away at Burnley, Shane Duffy at home to West Ham

MIDFIELDERS
Paul Pogba - at home to Huddersfield. The Frenchman owes his manager a performance after a shocker against Spurs.
Mesut Ozil - at home to Everton. Once in a while Ozil has a two goal, two assists game. This could be one of those.
Kevin De Bruyne - away at Burnley. A dull, obvious, necessary choice given his form and the fixture.
Junior Stanislas - at home to Stoke. A regular in this column last season until injury ruined everything. Looks back to his best.

Honourable Mentions: Wilfried Zaha at home to Newcastle, Demarai Gray home to Swansea, Eden Hazard away at Watford, Christian Eriksen away at Liverpool, Xherdan Shaqiri away at Bournemouth

STRIKERS
Sergio Aguero - away at Burnley. Another dull, obvious, necessary choice given his form and the fixture.
Alexis Sanchez - at home to Huddersfield. The perfect opportunity to make a statement on his Old Trafford debut.

Honourable Mentions:  Callum Wilson at home to Stoke, Jamie Vardy at home to Swansea, Daniel Sturridge at home to Southampton, Olivier Giroud away at Watford, Mohamed Salah at home to Tottenham, Harry Kane away at Liverpool

That's it for Week 26. Check out the Rotoworld Features page to access a host of fantastic content to get you ready for the weekend ahead.
