David Harris has replaced Jonathan Vilma at ILB for the Jets. Evan Silva explains why Harris can lead the NFL in tackles this year.

 Antonio Gates-TE-ChargersMay. 18 - 1:56 am et
Antonio Gates (foot surgery) is off crutches and out of his protective boot.
However, he still hasn't tried to run. "It’s coming," Gates said. "It’s a feel thing. It’s not like you can put an estimate of time on it." Gates believes in a worst-case scenario he'll by ready by September. The Chargers figure to take no chances and start him out on the training camp/PUP list.

 Philip Rivers-QB-ChargersMay. 18 - 1:52 am et
Philip Rivers will wear a brace on his surgically reconstructed knee throughout the regular season.
This is routine for QBs coming off torn ACLs. Rivers doesn't rely on his mobility too much, but neither does Carson Palmer and Palmer struggled with footwork and physical comfort in his first year back from the same injury. It'd be hard to gamble on Rivers having a big first half in 2008.

 Steve McKinney-C-TexansMay. 18 - 1:35 am et
Free agent OL Steve McKinney is expected to sign with the Dolphins on Monday.
The Dolphins have a hole at guard following Drew Mormino's departure. McKinney could compete there or be a backup for center Samson Satele.

 Steven Jackson-RB-RamsMay. 18 - 1:32 am et
Rams offensive coordinator Al Saunders believes Steven Jackson "has not even begun to reach his potential as a back."
Saunders considers Jackson a "three-dimensional back" who's improving as a route runner. While Saunders was the Chiefs' OC from 2001-2005, Kansas City's offense averaged 26 rushing touchdowns per season. That's six more than the Rams have had in any year since Saunders originally left St. Louis.

 Ryan Tucker-T-BrownsMay. 17 - 7:08 pm et
Browns OL Ryan Tucker underwent surgery to repair a non-displaced fracture in his hip.
The team says he'll be ready for the start of the season. Tucker was slated to start at right guard for Cleveland's suddenly strong line. Isaac Sowells and Rex Hadnot are candidates to fill in if Tucker isn't healthy by Week 1.

Allen and an unidentified person got into an argument at a parking lot of Bed Bath and Beyond, always a hotbed of tension. They then left for the police station to resolve their differences. No charges have been filed.
