Dexter Fowler left Saturday's game against the Pirates after being hit in the right knee by a pitch.

Fowler was hit by the Trevor Williams pitch in the fourth inning and had to be helped off the field. That's certainly not a good sign. Harrison Bader pinch-ran for Fowler. The Cardinals should have an update shortly.

Buster Posey is not in the Giants' lineup Saturday against the Cubs.

Posey gets a lot of maintenance days, especially with more-than-capable Nick Hundley as a backup, so this is likely just another day of rest. Hundley got the start behind the dish in his absence.

Andrew Benintendi homered, tripled and drove in three runs on Saturday, leading the Red Sox in an 8-6 victory over the Braves.

Benintendi greeted Jesse Biddle with a solo shot in the fourth inning that cut the Red Sox' deficit to 5-4. He then smoked a two-out, two-run triple in the seventh to increase their lead to 8-5. He finished the afternoon 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and is now slashing a healthy .283/.370/.489 with six homers, 33 RBI and eight stolen baseson the season. He continues to be a terrific five-category producer in fantasy leagues.

Mitch Moreland went 2-for-5 with a double, triple and two RBI as the Red Sox defeated the Braves on Saturday afternoon.

Moreland delivered a go-ahead two-run double in the sixth inning that put the Red Sox on top 6-5. Now locked in as the club's everyday first baseman in the wake of Hanley Ramirez's departure, Moreland should be owned and started in all fantasy formats. He's slashing .321/.394/.652 with eight homers with 25 homers on the season.

Craig Kimbrel allowed a run in the ninth inning against the Braves on Saturday, but still managed to secure his 16th save of the season.

Kimbrel gave up just one hit in his inning of work, a solo homer to Ronald Acuna. He has done a tremendous job this season, converting 16 of his first 18 save chances while compiling a 2.31 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 32/5 K/BB ratio in 23 1/3 innings of work.
May 26 - 4:42 PM

Drew Pomeranz was knocked around in Saturday's loss to the Braves, giving up five runs on six hits on only 3 1/3 innings of work.

Pomeranz walked three and struck out threeon the afternoon. He served up a two-run homer to Dansby Swanson in the second inning, then the Braves added on in the third and fourth before chasing him. He now owns a miserable 6.75 ERA and 1.88 WHIP on the season. It wouldn't be surprising to see the Red Sox bump him from the rotation, or place him on the disabled list, after this latest disaster.
May 26 - 4:42 PM

Ronald Acuna went 3-for-5 and blasted his fifth home run of the season as the Braves fell to the Red Sox on Saturday afternoon.

Acuna tagged Craig Kimbrel for the solo shot in the ninth inning. He chipped in a pair of singles in the ballgame as well. He has had his ups and downs so far this season, but is still slashing a respectable .263/.320/.456 with five long balls and 13 RBI in his first 125 plate appearances. The ceiling is still sky high for this 20-year-old slugger.
May 26 - 4:42 PM

Sean Newcomb lasted just three innings in a no-decision against the Red Sox on Saturday, giving up three runs on six hits.

Newcomb also issued four free passes while striking out four on the afternoon. He needed 88 pitches to get nine outs in this one. It was a rare disaster for a left-hander who has been remarkably consistent this season, posting a 2.75 ERA and 1.26 WHIP, even after Saturday's rough outing. He'll look to right the ship on Thursday againstthe Nationals.
